“We believe that business is good because it creates value, it is ethical because it is based on voluntary exchange, it is noble because it can elevate our existence and it is heroic because it lifts people out of poverty and creates prosperity. Free enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. But we can aspire to even more.”

To help business use less energy.
Reasons for business to use less energy:
Using less saves your business money.
Using less energy is being a good steward of your companies resources. The savings generated directly contributes the financial health of your company.
Using less is good for the environment.
There is a direct connection between energy use and the environment. When companies consume less power, they reduce the amount of toxic fumes released by power plants, conserve the earth’s natural resources and protect ecosystems from destruction. When business takes steps to reduce energy use, they contribute to a healthier and happier world.
Perhaps the most notable way that reducing energy helps the environment is by decreasing power plant emissions. To generate electricity, most power plants burn coal, crude oil or other fossil fuels. Although this method of creating energy is relatively inexpensive, our planet pays the price – carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are just a few of the byproducts that come from traditional methods of power generation.
Carbon dioxide, which accounts for the majority of all airborne pollution, is a greenhouse gas. When carbon dioxide is released into the air, it absorbs the sun's warmth and keeps heat in our atmosphere. This "greenhouse effect" is a natural phenomenon, and it's necessary for survival on earth. However, as power plants burn more fuel to create more energy, the extra carbon waste traps too much heat. This can have a detrimental impact on our land and our lives.
Effects of greenhouse gas emissions include:
Rising temperatures, heat waves and drought
Higher sea levels
Abnormal weather patterns
Increased intensity of natural disasters
Smog and acid rain
Using less improves national security.
Using fewer of America’s energy resources, like oil, coal and gas, means we don’t need to depend so much on politically volatile foreign nations. With energy efficiency, we save energy resources for future generations to use
Using less energy helps the economy
Demand for electricity will rise from 20 to 50 percent over the next 25 years without concerted efforts to conserve, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This puts stress on the current energy-producing systems, leading to increased instances of blackouts or brownouts during high-demand periods and forcing electric companies to search for more ways to produce electricity. It also drives up the cost for consumers. As of 2012, the EPA reports that the average household utility bill was $1,900 per year and that the cost to cook dinner was rising faster than the cost of the food.
